International Events

International Events 2012

1.       Australian Girl Guide International Jamboree

  Australian Girl Guide International Jamboree “fanTAStic 2013″will be held at Quercus Park, Carrick, Tasmania (20 Km SW of Launceston) from 6th to 12th January 2013. Participation is open for Guide members age 12 – 17 and leaders / adult members. Event Fee is AUD $995 for young members and AUD $720 for adults (fees include: transfers from point of entry into and from Tasmania, meals, accommodation in tents, sleeping bags and mats, blanket, pillow, dilly (plate) bag, scheduled program, most off site activities (fees do not include transport to Tasmania or travel insurance) Activities could include a day in central Launceston and over night off site activity

2.       New Zealand 2013 Tour

New Zealand 2013 Tour will be held from 21st February to 7th March 2013.

3.       11th Asia Pacific Regional Conference

11th Asia Pacific Regional Conference will take place at National Olympics Memorial Youth Centre (NYC), Tokyo, Japan from 29th June to 6th July, 2013. The Theme of the conference is ‘Believe, Belong, Be More’. Event Fee is USD 470 (Lodging Type A – with common bathroom) / USD 550 (Lodging Type D – ensuite rooms). Both options are single rooms.Observers and delegates can participate according to their membership of the Member Organization.

4.       Planet‘13 – 13th Int. Jamboree of the Scouts & Guides of Upper Austria

Planet‘13 – 13th Int. Jamboree of the Scouts & Guides of Upper Austria will take place from 5th to 14th of August, 2013. 300 Guides from all over the world and 700 Rangers & Rovers from Austria will participate. Age limit is 16-20 years.

5.       PR & Marketing Seminar

PR & Marketing Seminar will take place from 21st to 27th November, 2013.

 

WORLD CENTER EVENTS

Sangam

 1.       Discover your Potential I and Children’s Fun Days
Discover your Potential I and Children’s Fun Days will take place from7th to 16th January, 2013. It is a Sangam Community Leadership event. It will address Global Action Themes: girls worldwide say “we can create peace through partnerships” and “education opens doors for girls and boys”. Participants of All ages can participate. Event cost is £55 

2.       World Thinking Day
This is a Sangam Celebratory event.  Will take place from 18th to 27th February, 2013. The theme of the World Thinking Day is Global Action Theme: girls worldwide say “together we can save children’s lives” and “every mother’s life is precious”. Participants of All ages can participate. Event cost is £550

3.       Be The Change: MDG3 in India
The event will take place from 3rd to 9th March, 2013 and will focus on MDG 3 & Global Action Theme: girls worldwide say “empowering girls will change our world”. Participants will Explore Community Leadership and Advocacy in WAGGGS. Participants of All ages can participate. Event cost is £400.

4.       Essence of India I
Essence of India I will take place from 27th June to 3rd July, 2013. During the event participants will discover the colorful city of Pune. Learn about Community Leadership, Advocacy and projects in WAGGGS. This is a Sangam Cultural event. Global Action Theme: girls worldwide say “we can create peace through partnerships”. Participants of 16-30 year of age can participate. Leader can be over 30. Event cost is £400

5.       Discover your Potential II
Discover your Potential II will take place from 8th to 17th July, 2013. Participants of 16-30 year of age and Group leaders over 30 are welcome! Event cost is £550

6.       Discover Your Potential III
Discover Your Potential III will take place from 29 July to 7th August, 2013. Participants of 16-30 year of age can attend. Group leaders can be over 30. Event cost is £550

7.       Discover your Potential IV
Discover your Potential IV will take place from 12th to 21st August, 2013. Participants of 16-30 year of age can attend. Group leaders can be over 30. Event cost is £550

8.       Reach for the Stars
The event will take place from 2nd to 11th September, 2013. During the event Participants will Develop Community Leadership skills, learn about WAGGGS and discover Indian culture. They can immerse themselves in Indian culture through dance, fashion and food.  Global Action Theme: girls worldwide say “education opens doors for all girls and boys”. Participants of All ages can participate. Event cost is £550

9.       Be the Change: MDG2 in India
Will take place from 23rd to 29th September, 2013. With a focus on MDG 2 and Global Action Theme: girls worldwide say “education opens doors for all girls and boys, “participants will Explore Community Leadership and Advocacy in WAGGGS and then participate in an action being undertaken by Community Partners on the theme. Participants of 18 – 35 years of age can attend. Event cost is £400

10.   From Silver to Gold I, Sangam’s 47th Birthday

The event will take place from 7th to 18th October, 2013. This is a Sangam Celebratory event. And will focus on Global Action Theme: girls worldwide say “we can create peace through partnerships”. Participants of all ages can attend. The event cost is £630

11.   Gifts for Change
The project will be from 27th December, 2013 to 2nd January, 2014. One can Volunteer her time to a project at Sangam and also work with one or more of its Community Partner organizations in a Community Leadership Development Project. Global Action Theme: girls worldwide say “together we can end extreme poverty and hunger” during the project. Participants of 16-30 year of age can participate. Leader can be over 30. Event cost is £400

The event will take place from 18th to 20th January, 2013

2.       Guides Go for Pax Lodge

The event will take place from 25th to 27th March, 2013.

3.       Mini Seminar/Global Youth Service

The Mini Seminar will take place from 19th to 21st April, 2013.

4.       Journey through London I

This event will take place from 23rd to 28th June, 2013.  The Event is for girls to discover London with G.G and G.S and participate in community service project and celebration.5 nights of accommodation in shared rooms, all meals from Day 1 evening until Day 6 morning, Transport during the event via public transport, Activities and entrance fees will be as scheduled during the programme.

Journey through London II will be held from 7th to – 12th July, 2013.

6.       Journey Through London III

Journey through London III will be held from 21st to 26th July, 2013.

7.       Journey Through London IV

Journey through London IV will be held from 4th to 12th August, 2013.   

8.       Imagine More Seminar

The seminar will be organized from 8th to 14th September, 2013.

9.       Trefoil Special

This event will be held from 13th to 18th October, 2013.

10.   Guides Go for Pax Lodge 

This event will take place from 30th October to 1st November, 2013.

Our Cabana1.       Viva Mexico at the Mariachi rhythm!!!

Will take place from 28th January to 6th February, 2013. Learn about Mexico and its culture, run a community action project and learn about WAGGGS projects and Initiatives.   Travel overnight to the beautiful city of Guadalajara, land of the Mariachi. Cost per person is US$1350.

2.       A taste of the Friends of Our Cabana

The event will take place from 10th to 15th February, 2013. Members are invited to attend annual meeting, help with service project and experience Mexico’s diverse culture with trips. The Cost per person is $500 USD. A deposit of 10% of costs per person is required within one month of enquiry to secure your booking. This is non-refundable.

3.       Thinking Day & Butterfly Event

The event will take place from 18th to 27th February, 2013. It is of nine nights and includes an overnight trip to visit the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary.  Cost per person is $1080. A deposit of 10% is non-refundable.

4.       Spring Break I

The program will take place from 7th to 12th March, 2013. The Program offers a lot of fun with trips, Camp overnight at a local scout site and discover the secrets of the Tepozteco pyramid located at the top of the mountain. Cost per person is US$600. A deposit of 10% is non-refundable.

The program will take place from 14th to 19th March, 2013

6.       WLDP Seminar

WLDP Seminar will be held from 11th to 17th April, 2013 through WAGGGS Leadership Development programme. This seminar will be a stimulating mix of theory, active learning and community action that will make this an unforgettable and unique training experience. Cost per person is US$720.  A deposit of 10% is non-refundable

7.       Friendship Event

The event will be organized from 10th to 18th June, 2013.  Programs are cultural and include many activities and workshops based around the current WAGGGS themes and initiatives, Service project with the local community, Trips to several places of local interest. Throughout the 8 night event games, songs, activities, campfires, flag ceremonies and much, much more will be offered. Cost per person is US$960. A deposit of 10% is non-refundable.

The event will be organized from 11th to 19th July, 2013. Cost per person is US$960.

9.       Friendship Event

Another Friendship event will be held from 22nd to 30th, August 2013. Cost per person is US$960.

10.   WLDP Seminar

WLDP Seminar will be held from 10th to 16th October, 2013.  Advocacy is a natural part of the WAGGGS Leadership Development programme. This seminar will be a stimulating mix of theory, active learning and community action. Cost per person is US$720. A deposit of 10% is non-refundable.

11.   Mexican Fiestas & Traditions

This event will be held from 28th October to 5th November, 2013.  This 8 night event will focus on Mexican traditions, Service project with the local communities and trips to several places. Throughout the 8 night participants will enjoy games, songs, activities, Halloween celebration, campfire, flag ceremonies and much, much more.  Cost per person is US$960. A deposit of 10% of is non-refundable.

12.   Birds & Plants of Mexico

The event will be organized from 11th to 16th November, 2013. 5 night event is for nature lovers who would like to find out more about the wildlife living in and around Our Cabaña. The event includes bird watching activities, service project, trips to places.  Cost per person is US$600 non-refundable.

 

Our Chalet1.       Winter Escape Week 2013

The week will be celebrated from 3rd to 10th January, 2013. The event is for Rangers, Rovers and Adult Leaders: female & male members of WAGGGS or WOSM aged 18 years and over. Participate as a group or an individual. Cost per person is CHF 980 - includes 7 night accommodation, all meals, all programme activities and a luggage transfer.

2.       Summer Events 2013 – Swiss Challenge

The event s will be organized from 8th June to 28th August, 2013.  These are Open to Girl Guides, Girls and Boy Scouts from 12-18 of age. Hiking valley, rock climbing, visiting towns, evening programs such as International night, Swiss cultural night, Games and Campfires are the main features. International friendship, challenge, adventure & fun part of the programs. Indoor Package’s cost is CHF 1085 and Outdoor Package’s cost is CHF 765.

3.       Walking Week 2013

Walking Week will be held from 1st to 8th September, 2013. This event is for individuals and groups over 18 of age who enjoy outdoor activities especially walking and hiking.  Come to Our Chalet and hike some of the most popular hikes in the Adelboden valley and one challenging mountain hike -optional.

4.       Autumn Experience Week 2013

This week will be held from1st to 8th October, 2013. Participants can Learn about global movement, and explore the outdoors. Accommodation includes all meals from Tuesday dinner to Tuesday lunch, including complimentary breakfasts, Luggage transfer on arrival and departure day from Adelboden. The cost of the week is CHF 896.00.
